It’s Manatee Awareness month! We are excited to share that on the morning of November 1, the SeaWorld Orlando Rescue team returned "Washburn" the recently rescued pregnant manatee to the waters around Oak Hill, Florida.

"Washburn" was transported to SeaWorld Orlando's rescue facilities on October 18th, with a little help from the Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station, after being rescued off the coast of Cape Cod in September. Washburn began her rehabilitation at the Mystic Aquarium before arriving at SeaWorld.

Washburn was returned approximately 90-pounds heavier than when she arrived in Orlando and with a clean bill of health from our expert team of veterinarians.

Watch the full video of Washburn’s release in this SeaWorld Cares update.
